His creative output encompasses instrumental works for chamber ensembles and orchestra, electroacoustic music, and computer music research. In 2026, his piece Neuro Translation Engine was selected for the prestigious ICMC (International Computer Music Conference) in Hamburg and performed by Ensemble 404 at the Friedrich Ebert Halle. Russo's work has been recognized in several competitions; he won the " Terenzio Gargiulo " Composition Competition and was awarded 3rd Prize at the " Fondazione F. M. Napolitano " International Composition Competition. Deeply interested in multimedia and applied arts, he collaborated with RAI (Italian National Broadcasting) in Naples to score the short film Sete, released by the FDAM label. Research in Live Processing Notation
Current Theoretical & Practical Focus
My current research addresses one of the core challenges in contemporary computer music: the notation and documentation of live processing. The work focuses on developing clear visual paradigms and formal notation systems to effectively integrate real-time digital processing within mixed music scores, bridging the gap between acoustic performance and complex electronic environments.
